Catheter Care & Changes
During the Catheter care process, the urine is drained from your bladder using a suprapubic catheter (tube). A tiny hole in your abdomen is used to introduce it into your bladder. You may require a catheter due to urine incontinence (leakage), urinary retention (inability to pee), a surgery that necessitated the use of a catheter, or another medical condition. Our team at CareBridge Services look after almost everything concerning your catheter.
What to Expect from our team?
-
The catheter will help you clear your bladder more efficiently and avoid infections. You must ensure that it functions correctly. You may need to know how to modify it. Every 4 to 6 weeks, the catheter needs to be replaced, and we will take care of it.
Our professional healthcare team will assist you from inserting to cleaning the catheter and from changing and managing your catheter from end to end.
We will Take Care of Your Skin Around Your Catheter
- For optimum health and skincare, we help you follow these guidelines:
- We will help you check the catheter site multiple times a day. To ensure that there are no signs of redness, discomfort, swelling, or pus.
- We help you in cleaning the area with mild soap and lukewarm water for better hygiene and bacterial purposes.
- We’ll avoid using lotions, powders, or sprays in the vicinity of the wound.
- We’ll apply bandages to the location as directed by your dedicated doctor.
